Fish et Frites - What Our Customers say
"We want to say a huge THANK YOU for catering for us and all of our guests the Sunday after our wedding. It went down a treat! Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed it and what a good idea it was. So thank you for feeding us, and also for enabling us not to have to cook and clean again that weekend!
Anyone out there who has an event in this area and you're wondering what to do about catering, we would fully recommend Fish et Frites!
Many thanks again,Mr & Mrs Feasey
"Finally got to to the Fish et frites van at St Sulpice on Thursday, we had a great night.
We recently took part in voting for the best fish & chips in South Wales where our local chippie has won a Gold medal for the past few years but I must admit that Del & Jackie's are FAR better, the fish is huge and the batter is just fantastic, light and crispy...... not a soggy bit in sight, and what better way to eat them than sat outside the local bar with a few glasses of Pelforth and good company....fantastic!! and presumably the van brings in business for the local traders too. It also helps with integration as quite a few of the customers at the van were French and we soon got onto conversation about the novelty of the new taste for them. A win- win situation for all
Well done Del & Jackie.
We will be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"Gail & Derek - St Sulpice
"There was a huge turnout for these last night & they were really delicious and we are very fussy about our Cod & Chips as we used to get the best in Brixham. Yours were equally as good. We will be seeing you soon. Well done to Derek & Jackie for all their hard work & thanks to La Petite Fontaine for their wonderful hospitality. A great night out."
Violette - Le Dorat
"Luckily we were early enough to get fed and boy, was it worth it. Over 2 years since I've had fish and chips and didn't realise I had missed it so much. Well done Jackie and Del and of course not forgetting La Petite Fontaine who made us all very welcome.
As for suggestions - any chance of some Tartar Sauce or am I just being sad"Chris and Tony Read - Le Dorat
Not sad at all and tartar sauce is now available on the van! Jackie and Del
"Congratulations on a successful début in Montmorillon last night (Friday 26th April). We last sampled fish and chips in England just a week ago, and yours were very much superior. Thank you for exceeding our expectations in terms of both the quality and price of your product. We are shortly moving to Esse, in Charente, but will no doubt be returning frequently to Montmorillon, and will make a point of sampling your excellent fish and chips. Good luck with your venture. We hope you find the success you deserve."

"Came to chez Alain 6th May. The fish and chips were great. The queue was long and the weather bad, but we enjoyed it. It took us over 1 hr 15 mins to get there and the same back. Is that dedication?"
Linda - Bourganeuf
"Just to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips on Friday. I appreciate you were running low on chips that evening but a few more in the box would have been nicer! Despite the pressure you were under with the growing queue thought you were efficient and polite and will definately return for an encore! Well done also to your lad, not many teenagers would have been able to cope under the pressure of your first night and we thought he did a sterling job. Any chance of battered mushrooms or onion rings being added to the menu once you have got things up and running?!!!
Good luck and well done for a fab start."Sarah - Le Dorat
Oh boy have you got us into trouble - our son is demanding double pocket money now!!! Seriously, thankyou very much for your feedback. And you have made Dominic's day.
Sorry about the chips yes we were trying to stretch them a little - we just felt so bad about letting so many people down!
As for battered mushrooms or onion rings who knows? For the moment we need to keep things as simple as possible until we find our feet. But definitely worth considering extending the food range in a few months time when we are more relaxed about everything. Jackie and Del
